Mental health awareness

        MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS
According to WHO health is defined as a state of complete physical, mental and social wellbeing and not merely the absence of any disease. So it is quite clear from the definition that we need to be fine in all aspect to have a good and fine health. If one or two of the factors are disturbed then it will shake the very foundation of our health.
Shocking but true mental health is a stigma still today people don't talk openly about it. There is no proper clarity among the common regarding this topic. Mental health is a wide spectrum and has evolved by many folds in the recent past. There are researches taking place just to understand the domain in a better way.
First of all we need to normalise mental health and accept the same. And the best possible way to do that is by creating awareness, campaigns, teaching it in educational institutions and the like.
It's known what the pandemic has done to our lives. It has affected our lives in almost every possible ways. Massive effects on economy, education, and also our mental health. It has actually worsen our mental health. The cases all across the globe sky rocketed during the pandemic.!
What is to be done?
1.Share
Sharing is caring. Share your story with someone. Sometimes all we need is some patient ear that will hear what we have to offer without juding us. Mental health is something we can't see because it won't bleed blood, it won't swell or break but it can be felt. Share with someone whom you are comfortable with be it your parents, family members, friends, partner, whosoever the person may be. Just share with them how you are feeling and you will feel better. A problem shared is a problem halved.
2.The other two aspects
What I mean is that the social and physical health. Listen, the three pillars of health are closely related to each other and each one affects the other.
So if you are not good with your body say-you are overweight or underweight or having some sort of disease or your social health i.e your interpersonal relations are not good or you are not at peace with yourself then this matters will someway or the other affect your mental peace. Take care of that!
Bonus tip: Include exercise in your daily routine, it will boost your confidence and you will feel better.
3.Negetivity
As you sow so shall you reap. So be careful what you are feeding your brain. What I mean is that negetivity might be- the people you surround yourself with, those who don't motivate you to move further and yet you hang out with them it's not good, it might be what content you are consuming, whom you are following. Everything matters. Cut off the people or the habit that no longer is doing good in your life and making you feel like a victim.
4.Help
Seeking help doesn't make you weak. Seeking help means you are strong and you refuse to give up and you want a way out from the pain that you are feeling inside.
Ask help from professionals- a psychiatrist, psychologist, doctors or anyone who is an expert. Don't worry. Being a medical student what I can assure you is that they won't judge you and will give you the best possible advice just to make you feel better. You will do good. It's like a burden when you are not okay and pretend to be so! You are strong.
5.Develop good habits
Good habits is absolutely necessary for a good and better life. Having good habits will not only help you physically but also mentally and socially. It's the habit that we do on a daily basis shapes our lives.
Out of many good habits what you can have is exercising, journaling, meditation, positive affirmations and the like.

What can you do when you find someone with mental health issues?
1.Being a good friend.
You can just sit down and hear what a person has to offer. Just hear it and don't judge. Be kind and empathetic. Remember they don't want attention they need affection.
2.Check on them.
Call them, text them ask them if they are alright. Make them belive that you are with them no matter what and will stick by their side no matter what.
3.Advocate them.
If things go out of your hands ask him to see professional and get help and be with them.

On an end note It's okay not to be okay but being not okay for a long time is not okay. Know that you are not alone there are millions around the globe who are going through the same problem. Don't treat yourself like a victim. You are good, you are great and you will do absolutely fine. Don't give up on yourself.
Take care..!!
                          THANK YOU
